Season 2: mera pyaara abhi?

 “o haareya mai dil haareya”

 6th grade, 28th September 2018 was when for the first time someone dedicated me to a song- Haareya by Arijit Singh, I know it sounds very cheesy but I mean we were 10 years old, what do you expect?

It was right after mid-terms, it was the day of paper showing and already I was having a bad day just then in the break when I was climbing the stairs of e-block, some 8th graders apparently “for fun” pushed me and I fell off my head, so naturally I came to my class on the third floor crying like crazy. Then there he was, (let’s call him Abhi short for Abhimanyu) standing with his weird smirky smug face alone in the class, sat in front of me and asked “Kya hua ro kyu rahi hai?” obviously I ignored him because why I was crying was quite dumb, at least that’s what I thought back then, but, Abhi was just pain in my ass. Wherever I was going, he was coming after me and bugging me until I told him, as soon as I told him I burst into tears again, I don’t know why, so he took out his handkerchief from his pocket and gave it to me. Oh, no one ever did something like that to me, I wiped my tears with it and then he said “Paridhi, chal tujhe kuch dikhata hu, tujhe guitar pasand hai?”I nodded so then he brought his guitar from the basement guitar room and it was the moment-

“Dekheya main chaand dekheya

 Nooran waale sitaare dekheya

 Par tere jaisa na koi dekheya main…”

He sang it to me, I smiled and he smiled harder. “tujhe ye acha laga?” “haan, bhot” “aaj se ye tera gaana”

He literally gifted me a song. Even after 6 years whenever I listen to it, it's never sung by Arijit Singh but Abhimanyu.

(Shayad iss wajah se maine bhi guitar khareeda tha)

Sometimes we still talk although he has a girlfriend now, I bet he dedicated a shit load of songs to her, but last year when we were in the same van and Haareya was on, the radio we both looked at each other, him with his usual smirk and me- with longing, “maybe again, one day”.

But once someone said:

“hamesha har story ki happy ending nahi hoti”
